International medical professionals working in Australia

Getting the appropriate working visas and registrations to work in Australia can take a very long time. For example, if you’re a physiotherapist from overseas, it can take up to 2 years to get the appropriate permissions to work in Australia.
Before you apply for a role in Australia, check that you’re ready to work.
Here are some useful websites:
1. Department of Immigration and Border Protection
2. Australian Medical Association
4. Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
A recruiter cannot put you forward for a job if you don’t have the appropriate visa and registration to work in Australia. This decision is not personal – it is because you cannot legally work in Australia without the appropriate visa and registrations.
Once you’re ready to apply for work, research how resumes are set out in Australia and ensure you have certified copies of your visa and registrations to show recruiters and potential employers.
Good luck!
